Complaint Description and Writeup
Hello, I am writing to file a complaint with the property located at 111 Boyd Street in Ashland City, TN. Earlier in the year, the property owner contacted us regarding developing this property to add several homes on the site. He asked if it would be okay to cut-down a couple of trees on it that were close to an existing home. After a few weeks had gone by, we visited the site and found that he had a bulldozer clear the entire property. All of the trees were pushed over to include several that have gone into the stream located downhill from the site. We attempted to work with the owner in an attempt to mitigate the situation and get him to apply for an NPDES permit. There is silt fencing, but it is installed incorrectly in places and has been damaged from trees and has become overwhelmed with sediment which is now washing into the stream. We have attempted to work with him to correct this issue and follow the proper procedures regarding storm water runoff but he does not seem to be interested in complying. I am attaching several photos to help show what is happening with this site. If you need any more information or photographs, please contact me and I will assist you in any way that I can.
