Complaint Description and Writeup
The Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA) reported to Beverly Brown (BTB) that kayakers on the S. Fork Holston River had seen a gray color downstream of Holliston's outfall 001 pipe on 8-28-17. One of the kayakers, Jimmy Davis, 423-754-9325, forwarded pictures of the gray discoloration to BTB on 8-29-17. Sandra Vance (SKV) contacted Mr. Mike Amyx, Holliston on 8-29-17. Mr. Amyx observed the outfall 001 pipe and river on 8-28-17 and 8-29-17. A gray tint was observed from the pipe and downstream beside the river bank. Tree debris from upstream of the pipe and low flow in the river were observed on 8-28-17. Per Mr. Amyx, the wastewater treatment plant was in normal operation. No NPDES permit exceedances have occurred.
