Complaint Description and Writeup
Complaint Description and Writeup
Mr. Danny Neely, Town of Baileyton reported a 6-11-18 overflow at 17 Main Street, Baileyton from a residential pump station. A written report will be sent to the Johnson City EFO. The report received on 6-15-18 indicated, "On June 11, 2018 at 1:30 pm the Baileyton W.W.T.P. received a call from 17 Main Street and said their sewer pump station was overflowing. They informed me that the home had been vacant and the water and power was shut off to the home and had been for about a year. The homeowner told Billy Sanders that they were mowing the yard late last week and may have bumped into the casing leading down to the cut off valve. Billy checked the casing and found where it had been hit and the valve was cracked open about an 1/8 of an inch and was seeping sewage but no solids were coming through. Billy closed the valve and made sure nothing was coming through. He put lime down and sprayed down the area around the pump statin with disinfectant. We estimate that over the weekend that at most 500 gallons of sewage leaked on the ground. The Town of Baileyton responded to the overflow as quickly as we knew of the overflow. Billy was on the scene in 15 minutes and had the sewage valve shut off immediately."
