Complaint Description and Writeup
Complaint Description and Writeup
6/14/17: Joellyn Brazile (JEBr) with DWR was forwarded an email from Senator Gresham's office regarding odor concerns with the Town of Oakland WWTP. JEBr assigned complaint to Steve Owens (SRO).
06/16/2017: SRO left message for Harvey Ellis, WWTP Operator.
06/19/2017: SRO spoke with Harvey Ellis. He stated that a deodorizing mister had been obtained and had been in use for about 3 weeks. The mister is set on a timer to spray 4 times a day for 30 minutes. Mr. Ellis stated it may be possible to move the mister closer to the subdivision across the street. They have sprayed about 55 gallons of deodorizer. They are currently out of deodorizer (for about 1 week), but are in the process of purchasing more. Mr. Ellis stated they are also looking into adding aerators to the small cell near the subdivision. He stated that an electrical engineer has been contacted, but the engineer wants to visit the facility to determine the feasibility of adding aerators to the small cell. Mr. Ellis also stated that he will contact Synargro about removing the sludge from the small cell. The sludge will be hauled offsite and used for agricultural fertilizer.
06/20/2017: SRO emailed Ms. Roberson and informed her that I had spoken with Mr. Ellis. I requested that she call me so I could share the details of our conversation.
06/22/2017: Have not heard from Ms. Roberson, emailed her a summary of the conversation I had with Harvey Ellis.
