Complaint Description and Writeup
Jesse Thompson, Waste Water Specialist, called BBC on 6/15/2015 to report a sanitary sewer overflow from a pump station in the Sneedville STP collection system. According to Mr. Thompson, he noted both pumps failed in a pump station on Back Valley Road (36.52624 N, 83.24697 W) on 6/12/2015. This station only serves the Kiefer Manufacturing facility, and flow to the station is only 20-30 gpd. At the time of discovery, Mr. Thompson indicated there was a trickle of flow out of the station and it dried up on the nearby roadway only a short distance from the station. Mr. Thompson called C.L. Boggs to come repair the station. Upon arrival the evening of 6/12/2015, Boggs pumped down the station level to access the pumps. Additional work was performed on 6/13/2015 and one pump returned to service on 6/15/2015. The other pump had extensive damage and will be repaired and returned to service in the near future. Mr. Thompson will submit a report on the incident.
