Complaint Description and Writeup
Mrs. Ethridge contacted Brooke Barrett with concerns about small black particles in her water provided by the Decherd Water System. When I called Mrs. Ethridge on 12/23/16 she stated there were particles in the water, that they left a residue on her skin and that they were proceeding to get into everything including the toothpaste and hand lotion. I then contacted Tom Summers with the Decherd Water System. Mr. Summers stated that he was acquainted with Mrs. Ethridge having been to here house several times in response to water quality concerns. During each of Mr. Summer's visits no problems could be found. I, along with Jamie Ray of the Columbia EFO and Tom Summers, visited Mrs Ethridge on 1/10/17. The site investigation visit was delayed due to the holidays. During the visit no particles could be observed, a bacteriological sample was collected and was negative for total coliform and E. coli. Mrs. Ethridge was advised by mail of the results and that water met Safe Drinking Water Standards and is considered safe for consumption.
Ms. Ethridge called me back and left a voice mail on 1/19/17 after receiving my response letter. She wanted to clarify that her concern was about clear round particle, not small black particles as was previously stated in the letter. A correction letter was prepared and mailed.
