Description and Writeup
Mr. Ed Mullins, City of Elizabethton reported a 7-16-18 overflow at the Powder Branch Pump Station Manhole. The overflow reached Buffalo Creek. A report will be submitted to the Johnson City EFO. The report received on 7-16-18 indicated, "On 7/15/18, our WWTP recorded a total of 2.03 inches of precipitation from 8 PM Sunday to 1:30 AM Monday morning. Influent flows at the WWTP plant peaked at over 8 MGD during the rain event....Our crew at the Powder Branch Pump Station reported that the manhole adjacent to the pump station began overflowing at 1:14 A.M. and ceased at 2:49 A.M. The amount of overflow from the manhole was reported to be only coming from the holes in the manhole lid and was estimated to be between 5 and 25 GPM. The crew reported the overflow did reach the adjoining creek which was also at flood levels. Our crews reported that any debris from the overflow was cleaned up."
