Complaint Description and Writeup
Complaint Description and Writeup
Mr. Perlacky is concerned about development occurring at Cummings Cove that is directly above the cave system of Raccoon Mountain Caverns. The Indiana Gray Bat is found in the caves. He is concerned that the heavy equipment could crack rock in the caves. J. Innes asked him if he knows of any sink holes that could discharge to the caves, and he said yes, there is one with an opening to the caves. He said it is on their cave maps, and I asked him to get me a lat/long if possible. I told him we will probably need to notify Division of Water Supply if there is a sink hole issue.
The area is next to the camp ground, in the area of the old Alpine Slides.
We need to verify that this is in the permitted area.
J. Innes notified TWRA and Natural Heritage of concern about gray bats.
