Description and Writeup
Approximately 10:09 am on 2/15/12, Billy Dranes called to report a stream problem. At approximately 9:30 am today, operators at the Lebanon STP observed pink discoloration of receiving stream, Barton's Creek, upstream of the plant. They walked the stream immediately upstream of the plant and did not find any overland source. They said the substance appeared to be fluorescent where observed on sediment deposits in the stream. Dissolved oxygen (9.4 mg/L) and pH (7.2 SU) were tested. They did not observe any adverse impact on the stream. We will wait for results of their investigation, there is no need for WPC to investigate or take action at this time. AER ---------
2/15/12, I checked with DWS Groundwater Protection Section, and no dye trace/study has been registered for Wilson County. ---------
When I called Billy Dranes (cell phone # 308-7098) back to advise of no dye trace registered, he had contacted the Lebanon MS4 personnel and they weren't aware of any dye trace work either. City of Lebanon personnel are walking the stream now to look for the source. AER ----------
2/15/12, Billy Dranes called back. On Canal Street, city personnel found an overflowing manhole that was caused by a line blockage. There is a box company in the area of the manhole that uses dye on the box labels and some of the dye gets into the wastewater coming from the company. They have removed the line blockage and the overflow has stopped. They are preparing an overflow report and will send a copy to WPC today by e-mail, and will attach the report to the February MORs and DMRs. AER
