Complaint Description and Writeup
Complainant alleges sewage running out of Seal Avenue manhole near creek. According to complainant, this has occurred on multiple occasions, and the city council and WWTP operating personnel have been notified but have not taken action to correct the situation.
6/26/17 15:32- Message left for Jesse Thompson at Sneedville Wastewater Treatment Plant requesting investigation of potential overflow on Seal Avenue.
6/26/17 15:41- Message left for Jesse Thompson on cell phone requesting investigation of potential overflow on Seal Avenue.
6/27/17 Heiskell Stubblefield confirmed overflow from manhole on Seal Avenue. BBC notified WWTP operator, Jesse Thompson, of the overflow. Mr. Thompson, in turn, notified Lee Johnson with the city of the overflow. Mr. Johnson was aware of past problems in the area, and will take action to clear the blockage causing the current overflow. Additional information will be provided as available, and a written report will be submitted.
6/30/17 Mr. Thompson called BBC to confirm that creek rock blocking the sewer line at the overflow point had been removed on 6/27/17. Vaughn & Melton Consulting Engineers is supposed to inspect the line with a camera and recommend appropriate corrective action. Some amount of line replacement is expected to follow.
