Description and Writeup
Will Debord with OSMRE contacted DPL on 3/28/19. OSMRE recently conducted an inspection of Crossville Coal and determined with field test kits that Outfall 002 was discharging > 20 mg/L Mn and approximately 6 mg/L Fe. In addition, Iron staining was observed in the unnamed tributary to Meadow Branch. Will stated that OSMRE had issued violations for this issue. DPL informed Will that the Division would inspect and issue a violation or enforcement action if discharges violated the permit conditions or impacts to Waters of the State were noted.
