    Complaint Description and Writeup

    1/06/2020 - EMAIL:
    Mr. Atchley,

Hope you are well. I am writing to express my concern of multiple construction sites in the Hardin Valley area of Knox County that are producing significant storm water runoff pollution into Beaver Creek and other creeks that feed into Melton Hill Lake.

I frequently drive by several construction sites and am concerned about their apparent lack of storm water pollution control measures - or that these measures were put up long ago and are not being maintained - or are not adequate to contain/mitigate the runoff.

    Some in particular are:
    - A couple along Marietta Church Road
    - A couple on Sam Lee Rd. between Solway Rd and Steele Rd.

Please let me know what you are doing to address these issues. I can send photos if needed. Every creek in west Knox county does not have to look like chocolate milk every time it rains for a few hours.

Let me know if I can do anything to assist.

    Thank you,
    Paul McCown

*1/7/2020 - Knox County visited the site and all EPSCs are installed and functioning properly.

*1/08/2020 - Chris Sharp conducted an engineer site assessment. Email from Mr. Sharp "The Contractor has done a good job staying on top of the erosion control measures. We had around 4” of rainfall between Thursday of last week and the night before last. The sediment basin appears to be functioning properly and there were no obvious signs of sediment leaving the site. I didn’t have my boots with me so I didn’t walk the perimeter. I will do that in the near future."
