Description and Writeup
Hugh Thomason (Carter County Work Camp WWTP operator) called BBC on 3/16/2016 to report inadvertent discharge of turbid effluent from the WWTP on 3/15/2016. Maintenance personnel had accidentally left a filtration pump running, which caused hydraulic overload of the WWTP sand filters. The sand filter tanks spilled over to the post-aeration tank and discharged. Facility personnel turned off the filtration pump after noticing the turbid discharge.
