Mr. Hensley lives adjacent to the Luttrell Mine. Stated over the phone that mining activities have caused several issues for him as well as neighbors. Mr. Hensley stated that his well has poor water quality and is sandy, and that other neighbors have experienced the same problem. This problem began within the past 3 years. Mr. Hensley stated that the treatment ponds as the mine do not hold water, and was concerned that water loss from these ponds may impact his well. Mr. Hensley also had several complaints related to blasting including fly rock and structure damage. DPL referred him to the State Fire Marshal for these issues, and told him we would inspect the site to verify water is discharging to the surface as permitted and ponds are functional.
