When I was home last Christmas, there was a beautiful piece of land in what is now a city park that I have enjoyed since childhood with a beautiful seasonal stream running through it surrounded by trees. When I took a walk by that same piece of land today, it looked like someone’s half-forgotten construction project. The trees were gone. So was the stream.
