Description and Writeup
Sewage is pouring into Brown’s Creek again after all the rain. Metro Water was just by because they are “monitoring” the line so they are well aware it is overflowing. Tampons and toilet paper are coming out. I would like to know what amount of sewage in Brown’s Creek is acceptable since this is an ongoing, uncorrected problem. Metro Water knows the line is high and identifyied some stormwater inflow into this line in May of 2021. Ms. Scott informed me 3/25/21 that they would be studying the line last spring through this fall. I have been sending emails since 2020. My first complaint was 5/14/2020 when I was advised that the trunkline would be inspected. 5/8/2021 I complained again and was advised that the line had been inspected, rocks had been removed and the manhole seals were replaced. The manholes still leak! Metro Water frequently drives by and monitors. The manhole in the stream behind 4413 continues to leak. Manhole near 4417 has sewer pouring out. I had asked 5/21 that new homes not be attached to this line until the overflow issues could be corrected. New homes have continues to be attached. When can we expect this problem to be corrected?

Response from Metro:
The seepage out of the manhole has stopped. We will work on clean up after the area dries out.
We have had flow monitors installed in the area since spring to gather data on flows in the system. We will utilize that data to update our computer model and then do an alternatives analysis. We have inspected and cleaned rocks and debris from several of the sewers and have replaced manhole covers and cleanout caps. We will continue walking the trunkline and checking for manhole covers off etc. in the creek. We have this location on our watch list to check when it rains - that is why you see the MWS truck stopping by and then driving on. We will continue to check during and after rainfall events.
