Sewer overflow complaint.
JMF contacted La Vergne sewer personnel on 7-30-20. City is aware of the issue and has plans to address it. Water and sewer personnel will increase observation of the manhole to check for overflow and will shut off pumps if any is observed. City is proposing to install level sensor in the manhole to alert in the case of high levels, allowing the water plant to shut off discharge pumps prior to an overflow occurring.
Complainant contacted on 7-31-20.
City e-mailed on 8-6-20; investigation determined that backwash discharged directly into manhole causing surcharge condition, line has been re-routed directly to downstream interceptor. City still plans to install float alarm in manhole.
