Complaint Description and Writeup
Complaint Description and Writeup
Mr. Larry Wheat called to say that the house that he is living in was built in 1947 and was allowed to build over the sewer main. He has a basement in his house and is tapped into the sewer main through the basement. He has experienced many backups of the sewer into his basement in the last few years. When the sewer backs up, he notifies the city of McKenzie and they flush the line and everything recedes. The latest backup from the weekend of 10/28/23 and 10/29/23 resulted in several inches of sewage in his basement. The city has requested that he get a quote to move his service to the street grade vs the basement which would result in plumbing fees for the owner. The city will then concrete the basement connection to prevent further overflows. The quote is in the process of being produced and the hope is that the city will aid the home owner in the cost of moving the sewer line.
