Description and Writeup
Complaint regarding well drilling that is causing turbidity issues with Hampton Spring and affecting the nearby stream.
F. Colyer investigated compliant 28 June 2024. Upon arrival at 1550, turbidity of the stream at the road was clear and the turbidity of the spring head was clear. Mr. Boone Abbott, P.G. of Geosyntec Consultants was onsite developing the well. The drill was loaded onto a trailer being prepped for transport. All drilling was completed. Mr. Abbott indicated the well head was approximately 65 feet from the spring head and was drilled to a depth of 70 feet. Static water was at 60 feet. No runoff from the drilling operation was observed as having entered the creek over land. Impact to the creek was no more than a couple hours and would be considered de minimus, as moderate to excessive sedimentation was not observed.
