Complaint Description and Writeup
Complaint Description and Writeup
On 10/30/2024, a Mr. Marshall Rines submitted a complaint via AskTDEC regarding his drinking water in the Huntingdon distribution. According to Mr. Rines, his drinking water (as well as many others) was severely discolored. Due to the nature of this complaint and the frequency at which similar complaints have been received, drinking water representatives from the Jackson Environmental Field Office conducted a site visit on 10/31/2024. During the site visit, it was discovered that Huntingdon public works staff were flushing hydrants improperly. The proper flushing techniques were explained to Huntingdon public works staff and were implemented immediately. Mr. Rines was contacted on 11/1/2024 and claimed his water quality had improved. Due to the corrective actions taken by Huntingdon, and the results provided by Mr. Rines, it is determined that this complaint is now closed.
