Description and Writeup
The anonymous complainant reported to Mr. Jason Benton (JTBe)-Division of Water Resources (DWR)-Johnson City Environmental Field Office (JCEFO) that Hutchinson Body Sealing System is discharging wastewater with a high pH(>11), solids, and oily debris as a result of washing the collections cells from the air filtration system to the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). He has spoken to the Division of Air Pollution Control (APC)-JCEFO as well and issued a complaint with them (complaint #126319). Ms. Sandra Vance (SKV)-DWR-JCEFO spoke with Ms. Sandy Renner on 3-30-2023 and was informed that Mr. Dave Shields, Hutchinson Body Sealing System is conducting an investigation. The results of the investigation will be forward to SKV. Ms. Renner will also do a follow-up investigation. The facility has a zero-discharge industrial user permit under the City of Church Hill WWTP pretreatment program.
