Complaint Description and Writeup
Mr. Essex called the front desk and stated that Tennessee American was releasing a white powder that was getting in his water hoses. We went to Mr. Essex's home and tested his water for chlorine and turbidity. The chlorine was 1.29 mg/L and the turbidity was 0.58 NTU. Particles were not observed in his water. They were only visible on the connectors between his hose and his faucet. It is thought to be galvanic corrosion and not attributed to water quality. The home is across the street from the water plant. While we were onsite, Mr. Essex mentioned water coming onto his property from the water treatment plant. This has been referred to other staff for the potential need for permit coverage.
