Today, December 7, 2006, I visited Ace Products in Newport, Tennessee in order to conduct a CEI.
Ace Products had become a pretreater in the last year and half, discharging its pretreated industrial wastewater to the Newport Utilities. They had only an active TMSP permit from us.
The plant look shut down and vacant, but I happen to run into Mr. Jackie Walker, Environmental Coordinator, as I was getting out of the vehicle and as he was leaving the building.
He explained that Ace Product¿s all three plants located in Tennessee, Louisiana, and Pennsylvania were shut down due to the company¿s going out of business. Some of the equipment was sold. The plant windows were cardboarded.
We discussed about the environmental related documents and records and the situation of various permits. He explained that an environmental company has been placed in charge of them. |
