Notes
Joint investigation between DMGR and DWR to investigate multiple complaints in the area. Staff present included Jason Dees, Caleb Mackey, Zach North, Ginny Lawrence, Daniel Lawrence. TDEC staff inspected both the Greentown operations and the adjacent Cane Mountain Stone operations. The mining areas located within the valley were inspected as well as the rock yards located near the cemetery. Please see inspection reports attached to these two permits. No mining within streams was observed. Moss covered rocks were present within the rock yard, but these rocks did not appear to have originated from within stream as they were not adequately rounded. The mining facilities were generally compliant, with a few minor issues noted within the inspection reports. The rock yard was determined to be outside of the bounds of the cemetery.
DPL spoke with the complainant by phone on 9/5/24 to advise him of the outcome.
