Notes
Met with Division of Natural Areas(DNA) Jason Miller, David Withers, Todd Crabtree & Caitlin Elam to evaluate site for potential T&E habitat. Brandon Myers was present representing Vulcan. DNA indicated that it may be more appropriate to the region for the wetlands to remain unforested. Additionally, eradication of fescue and Sericea lespedeza might be part of the management strategy for whoever hold the conservation easement on the mitigation area.
Overall the site looked good and consistent with the approved plans. The stream restoration work appeared stable. Some sediment and gravel appears to be creating depositional bars of unweathered limestone in the channel (Barton's Creek) that receives the discharge from the BWI quarry and potential runoff from the Vulcan Asphalt Plant and Old Murfreesboro Rd. W.
