There were uncontrolled sediment accumulations that have the potential to reach waters of the state were identified below Outfall 003. The sediment discharge is likely from storm water runoff from the road instead of Pond 3 since the pond is mostly dry. Please ensure Outfall 003 (and all outfalls) are monitored as per NPDES permit requirements. Improved BMPs need to be in place to control sediment and storm water runoff from the haul road and/or Outfall 003. Please address this maintenance issue and remove the sediment if possible or stabilize the area with seed and straw below Outfall 003 within 30 days and submit documentation (such as photos) to inspector Morgan Bishop at Morgan.Bishop@tn.gov or 910-710-6390.
