Keith Radford and Tommy Hodges met Inspector Morgan Bishop onsite on October 23, 2024 for an NPDES Inspection and the inspection of Mine Area A for surface mine bond release. Mine Area A was not active at the time of the inspection and hasn’t been in years. This area has been reclaimed and is well vegetated (Item 1), and was previously found suitable for bond release during a previous inspection on August 5, 2024. Mine Area B was active at the time of the inspection. At the time of the inspection, no outfall points were discharging, and all ponds were below discharge levels. Outfall 001 has been capped in Mine Area A (Item 5). Outfall 002’s intake pipe is filled with debris that should be removed (Item 7).
Mine Area A is reclaimed and eligible for surface mine bond release and removal from the NPDES permit area. Pease see the attached signed annual report. Also, please make sure to include updated maps with the NPDES modification submittal.
