TDEC Inspector, Morgan Bishop, inspected the site on October 3, 2024 in response to a complaint received on October 2, 2024 regarding heavy sediment discharge in an unnamed tributary of Crooked Creek. According to site representatives, wastewater from the wash plant on site was recently discharged without proper treatment due to a pump failure. This caused the discharge of untreated wastewater and resulted in heavy sediment discharge impacts to the receiving stream, an unnamed tributary to Crooked Creek. TDEC Inspectors Morgan Bishop and Bonnie Craighead evaluated the stream impacts on October 9, 2024. Sediment accumulations ranging from a film (1/8 inch) up to 8 inches were present along approximately 16,009 (3.03 miles) of the tributary before accumulations dissipated.
