A follow-up inspection was conducted to document maintenance done to clean the ponds at outfall 001. The sediment sump and the peremeter of cell 1 were cleaed using a backhoe and long boom. The pond was discharging clear water at the time of inspection. Additional work needs to be performed on site to distribute the cleanout material on the refuse area in lifts as described in the OSMRE surface mine permit. This is not creating a water quality issue as all refuse area wastewater drains to the pond for treatment.
This site has been out of compliance for failure to meet selenium limits in DMR reporting.
Biomonitoring Method
