Follow up inspection to 1/25/23 inspection after the permittee's consultant, Tim Sloan, informed the Division of are outside both the existing permit boundary and the proposed expansion boundary. This area is being used for overburden storage and equipment storage. There is also a cave in this area. There were either berms or rocked outslopes for the area. An area was identified where some concentrated flow was occurring. It was recommended that a storm water outfall be added at this location. This cave should not be disturbed, and that will be indicated in the site plans to be submitted. As a majority of the area examined is actively being filled with overburden, attention will need to be paid as the height of the overburden increases. This may require additional BMPs, slope armoring, water diversion, etc. The site will be marked as returned to inspection once application materials are received that address the areas outside of the permit boundary. A review will be done on the cave to determine if it is likely to be a habitat for any state or falderal endangered species.
