Follow-up
Follow up inspection conducted to look at BMP improvements made in response to NOV dated March 13, 2023. Facility added additional rip rap to the stormwater outfall located at SWP31.01. Facility should continue to monitor SWP 31.01 to make sure it looks like the rip rap is holding the bank and not continuing to erode out from underneath it. Facility added rip rap to the outfall at DMP 31.01. The slope of the berm that had failed after significant rainfall during the month of February has not yet established adequate vegetation. The erosion control matting appears to be holding; however, additional vegetation is needed on the slope. The additional gullied area approximately 200ft. to the northeast of where the berm failure occurred had not been reworked and stabilized. Additional straw had been placed in the gully. Facility indicated they did not rework this area yet because they wanted to ask if the entire slope should be pulled back where it is not so steep to satisfy reclamation requirements. I talked with the DMGR and determined slope would be acceptable for reclamation as long as they get it stabilized. I contacted Dustin Tucker on 7-20-23 and discussed this. I also looked at the reach of UNT to Bear Creek where the sediment removal occurred. The riparian area along the UNT To Bear Creek had been mulched. After talking with DMGR I contacted Dustin Tucker and recommended the facility plant willow stakes to help the riparian area recover quicker.
