Notes
This plant has no active mining - the facility is used to process materials/aggregate from their active pits around north plant (TN0072532 - Griffin/Area #5; TN0079693 - Bradley/Area #8). No discharge observed at DMP001. Drainage from Griffin/Area #5 non-mining acreage (storm water only) flows via a natural ditch and county road culvert northward onto Area 1 (this permit area), where it joins with water from the Area 1 Primary wash plant. The combined water is then captured by a weir in the ditch in Area 1, and pumped to the first treatment cell, thence flowing eastward across Gratitude Church Road to the stilling pond on the May tract, and into the treatment basin system. Water flowing into the last treatment pond was clear, and was being pumped into the pumping pond for re-use in the wash plant. Minor/de minimis trickle from the weir/ditch was stopped while on-site.
