Notes
DWR inspector accompanied by Mr. Terry Lovett/Memphis Stone & Gravel. No active mining in Area 1 permit boundary; facility is used to process materials/aggregate from active north plant pits (Area 5/Griffin - TN0072532; Area 7/Duke - TN0079375). Process/storm water from Griffin/Area 5 can be routed via culvert northward under Millington-Arlington Rd to a diversion ditch in Area 1, joining w/water from the Area 1 primary wash plant. Combined water is pumped to the upper/pumping pond for re-use in the wash plant or to the sand lake SE of the wash plant. Water flows from the sand lake northward/eastward via diversion ditches & a culvert under Gratitude Church Rd to the stilling pond (May tract), then northward via culvert under Van Rd & westward through 5 large polishing basins to DMP 001. Water flowing into the final pond was clear, & was being pumped to the upper/pumping pond for re-use in the wash plant. Asphalt plant N of wash plant was idle/inactive. 1 diesel AST (20,000 gals) in secondary containment, one used oil tank, & a used oil filter bin were located near the southwest corner of the site. No major issues noted. No discharge observed at DMP001.
