Duke – mining the north end for pug mix; drainage – all internal to existing basins; DMP001 – active, not discharging.
Rosenburg – majority of acreage cleared – all trees down; large brush piles to be moved; have begun moving topsoil and overburden from southeast pit – also internally draining; no active mining to date. Vegetated buffer and favorable topography across south side. Silt fencing in place at southeast corner, south of the large earthen berm constructed along the eastern perimeter; berm outslopes not stabilized with vegetation. Unpermitted discharge point approximately 250 ft. south of the northeast site corner. Multiple rows of silt fence at this location; evidence of off-site discharge of sediment-laden water observed.
DMP002 has not been constructed to date.
The area has been cleared and excavation begun for the proposed basin up-gradient of DMP-003 (proposed), but the berm has not been constructed to complete the basin, allowing runoff from the disturbed ground to flow to the riparian buffer along the Beaver Creek Tributary that transects the site west-to-east. Recent rains, grading, and remaining brush from clearing activities have made conditions unsafe to access the buffer and DMP003 from the site.
Need to complete the basin at DMP003. Need to complete vegetative stabilization of areas outside the proposed mine pit, with emphasis on berm Outslopes and uncontrolled drainage points at northeast and southeast corners.
