Notes
Conducted a Follow-Up Inspection to see the BMPs the facility has installed since the last inspection in March 2018 and also to evaluate Annual Report submitted as a part of the NPDES permit renewal process.
Facility has installed BMPs to correct violations noted during the March 2018 inspection including silt fence, straw wattles, check dams, rip rap, diversion ditches, erosion control blankets, and seeding/mulching. During the inspection, we discussed adding berms along the haul road at the southernmost culvert crossing and directing run-off from the haul road to the sediment pond.
The Stage 2 Sediment Pond has been finished. Outfall 001 has been constructed in the northeast corner of the Stage 2 Sediment Pond. No discharge from Outfall 001 was observed at the time of inspection. The Stage 1 Sediment Pond is still under construction. The facility indicated they were on an accelerated construction schedule but it will likely be next year before the Stage 1 Sediment Pond is completed.
SW002 is going to be moved to a culvert crossing along the haul road where a significant amount of sediment was lost prior to the installation of BMPs at the site.
The site is still considered Out of Compliance because the Stream Remediation Work for the UNT to the UNT to Colonel Fork Creek has not been completed. A Stream Remediation Plan still has not been submitted for the sediment loss to the UNT to the UNT to Colonel Fork Creek noted during the March 2018 Inspection.
