FACILITY NAME: Vulcan Construction Materials, LLC – Georgetown Quarry
NPDES PERMIT NUMBER: TN0065790
TDEC INSPECTORS PRESENT: Ms. Jennifer Dulin and Ms. Angela Oberschmidt
NARRATIVE STATEMENT:
On March 2, 2022, Jennifer Dulin and Angela Oberschmidt of the Division of Water Resources (DWR) conducted a compliance inspection at the above referenced facility. They met with Mr. Brandon Myers, who provided information during the inspection. The site is inactive and unmanned. Entrance to the limestone quarry is protected via locked gate and barbed wire fencing. Site inspections are performed frequently.
Monthly Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs) are submitted electronically to NetDMR, as required by the permit. Ms. Dulin reviewed three (3) years of DMRs, prior to the inspection. All DMRs were marked no discharge. Ms. Dulin discussed applying for a monitoring reduction waiver with Mr. Myers.
Inspectors observed the settling pond and historic quarry pit. Structural controls and BMPs appeared adequate. The site appeared heavily vegetated and stabilized, due to inactivity. No pollutants were observed leaving the site.
Inspectors observed permitted Outfalls DMP 001 and DMP 002. The outfalls were not discharging during the inspection.
Violations
