In the time of my employment I have observed numerous violations which are adversely affecting our health from plastic polyester pellets & acetates/acids being wash down into our draining system to billows of industrial waste being leaked out into our air at night when everyone is sleeping around 3am! I have been trying to get assistance with this matter as my children’s health has been affected as well as mine from directly working in an unhealthy work environment which resulted in a miscarriage on 12/06/22. My two older daughters have to see lung specialists and have had multiple icu hospitalizations from severe asthma attacks. We are subjected by the air we breathe, water we drink, cook with, bathe in, horrid smells in the air, skin irritations, and much more health problems we aren’t fully aware of! The facility structure is negligently maintained, rusted pipes holding industrial waste, contaminated waters leaching into soil, acid/cancer causing materials contaminated packaging being put into regular trash containers, negligent lack of sufficient work supplies caused loss of life, injury, emotional damage.8/8/23: MLH and ALD conducted an unannounced site investigation at Eastman Chemical to conduct a facility tour and review records for PES B-65-1, B-67-1, and B-190-1 in the Specialty Plastics Department as described in the 8/1/23 complaint description. An annual compliance inspection for MSOP-27 (Permit 574985) was last conducted by the Division in October 2022 with prior records reviewed through 9/30/22. All records reviewed during the investigation indicated compliance with the specified requirements and were maintained in accordance with the log completion guidelines. In addition, a facility tour was conducted to observe the sources and air pollution control devices. No evidence of poor air pollution control practices were observed during this time. No violation found8/25/23: Response email sent to complainant. Complainant response email returned undeliverable due to the mailbox being full.
