| I visited the Alamo STP and spoke with Bill Tyler about the high ammonia results the last week of January and about how he reported them on the DMR.
Bill said the sludge return line was stopped up during the extremely cold weather. DrainWorks came once and got it opened for about 24 hours. Alamo's sewer machine was able to clear it twice and it's working okay now.
The local nursing home has put in a screen to catch rags and the jail says it will do likewise. Utility sewer has been extended down Hwy 54 to the drive into the STP. Four houses were connected and Alamo hopes to pick up the subdivision across the Hwy from the STP. A new lift station installed near the STP's drive pumps to a tie in point with the main lift station's force main on the STP's south side just outside the fence.
Bill was contacted by Alamo's consulting engineer to talk about what needs to be done at the STP. In addition to some repairs Bill hopes to get some new lab equipment. |
